Contemporary art is defined as an art produced after the Modern Art era up to the present day. It is a means of expressing oneself\u2014a reflection of what we \u201cthink and feel of the now, of the present<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d However, what if there was a greater purpose than just expression? If contemporary art is a reflection of our environment, ourselves, and each other, then we must ponder: How can we truly understand the wonders that our beloved country holds?<\/em><\/strong> <\/em>And: How can we share our cultural heritages with the young generation to inspire them to continue practicing and honing the various creative Filipino skills in art and design?<\/em><\/strong> <\/em>Treasures of our heritage and culture have been passed down for countless generations, yet only a handful of people experience or are even aware of our countless and precious traditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Philippines is an archipelago consisting of 7,107 islands. With three main islands\u2014Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao\u2014with a multitude of provinces per island inhabited by Filipinos. Different beliefs and traditions have accumulated overtime, creating the birthing of cultural heritages solely we can claim as Filipino identities\u2014these we proudly share with the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to understand what treasures our country holds, the Lilok 3 Exhibit<\/strong> shall present renditions of artworks and performances created by the graduating batch of the Grade 12 STEM students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this project, the Grade 12 STEM students shall showcase their creativity with art and technology as their tools, paving the way for STEAM. Attempting collectively to bridge the past, to the present, and to the future.
