{"id":1728,"date":"2011-10-04T15:42:11","date_gmt":"2011-10-04T07:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dlszobel.edu.ph\/?p=1728"},"modified":"2011-10-04T15:42:11","modified_gmt":"2011-10-04T07:42:11","slug":"october-5-is-world-teachers-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dlszobel.edu.ph\/index.php\/2011\/10\/04\/october-5-is-world-teachers-day\/","title":{"rendered":"October 5 is World Teachers&#039; Day!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A blessed Teachers&#8217; Day to all who have been in the ministry of <em>teaching minds, touching hearts, and transforming lives<\/em>!\u00c2\u00a0 As we thank all\u00c2\u00a0our teachers past and present, let us also offer praise to\u00c2\u00a0Jesus Christ, the\u00c2\u00a0<em>Greatest Teacher, <\/em>who should remain as the inspiration behind our\u00c2\u00a0goals and the source of all our learning.<br \/>\nWhat is World Teachers&#8217; Day?<br \/>\n&#8220;Since 1994 World Teachers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Day is celebrated on 5 October. It is an opportunity for UNESCO and Education International to celebrate the profession and to promote international standards for the teaching profession. The theme for this year is: <em>Teachers for gender equality<\/em>.<br \/>\n&#8220;Despite the teaching profession being made up largely of women, inequality remains an issue. Even if measures to ensure equality are enshrined into the policies and constitutions of many states, for millions of female teachers, the goals remain unfulfilled. The teaching profession, both men and women, must unite and urge governments to implement their commitments.
