{"id":15695,"date":"2019-03-05T09:16:27","date_gmt":"2019-03-05T01:16:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dlszobel.edu.ph\/?p=15695"},"modified":"2019-03-05T09:16:27","modified_gmt":"2019-03-05T01:16:27","slug":"holy-eucharist-and-imposition-of-ashes-on-march-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dlszobel.edu.ph\/index.php\/2019\/03\/05\/holy-eucharist-and-imposition-of-ashes-on-march-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Holy Eucharist and Imposition of Ashes on March 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lent begins on Ash Wednesday.\u00a0 As our foreheads are marked with ashes, these words are said: &#8220;Remember, that you are dust, and unto dust you shall return.&#8221;\u00a0 Ashed are a public sign of our intent to die to our worldly desires and live in Christ.\u00a0 Lent is a time of prayer and penance, when Christ wants to lead us back to our baptismal promises of dying to sin and of living for God.\u00a0 During this season, Catholics observe the disciplines of fasting and abstinence. The Catholic Church teaches that all people are obliged by God to perform some penance for their sins.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>We are all invited to reflect on God&#8217;s love made visible in the person of Jesus.
