{"id":15212,"date":"2018-09-27T13:20:38","date_gmt":"2018-09-27T05:20:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dlszobel.edu.ph\/?p=15212"},"modified":"2018-09-27T13:20:38","modified_gmt":"2018-09-27T05:20:38","slug":"students-conquer-lyes-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dlszobel.edu.ph\/index.php\/2018\/09\/27\/students-conquer-lyes-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"STUDENTS CONQUER LYES 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>De La Salle Lipa, De La Salle Santiago Zobel School, De La Salle University-Dasmari\u00f1as, De La Salle University Manila, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, De La Salle Health Science Institute, Jaime Hilario School La Salle, La Salle College of Antipolo, La Salle Green Hills, De La Salle Andres Soriano Memorial College, De La Salle Araneta University , De La Salle John Bosco College, La Salle University, St. Joseph School of La Salle, University of Saint La Salle, De La Salle Science and Technology.<\/em><br \/>\nThese sixteen La Salle schools from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao convened last September 19 \u2013 21, 2018 at De La Salle University-Dasmari\u00f1as for the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Lasallian Youth Environment Summit (LYES) 2018 to address the worsening state of the environment and gradual loss of biodiversity and to formulate concrete action-oriented programs to be implemented in the Philippines which can also aid in the mitigation of global environmental issues.<br \/>\nLYES, otherwise known as LIVES 2018: Lasallian Integrated Vision on Environmental Sustainability, aims to unify responses and approaches of Lasallian youth environmentalist in addressing environmental issues and concerns. Similarly, it is envisioned to create a robust and dynamic network of Lasallian young environmentalists that would spearhead significant advocacies and projects for environmental protection and preservation.<br \/>\nA total of 60 delegates attended the LYES SUMMIT 2018. De La Salle Santiago Zobel School sent three student leaders to actively take part in saving the Mother Earth. Together with Mr. Rodney Labaro, JHS Science Faculty, the following students represented the institution:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kirsten Caroline I. Reyes (DLSZ 2023)<\/li>\n<li>Sophia Bianca C. De Vera (DLSZ 2019)<\/li>\n<li>Joshua Mikael Quijano (DLSZ BRafeNHS 2021)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The DLSZ representatives bagged <strong>two major awards<\/strong> in the three-day camp namely <strong>First Place in Environmental Issues and Awareness<\/strong> and <strong>Top Awardees in the Presentation of Best Practices<\/strong>. The winning team presented their assigned topic entitled &#8221;Plastic Pollution&#8221;.<br \/>\nAll the attendees are challenged by the De La Salle Philippines (DLSP) to continue spreading awareness, to create and implement more ingenious and meaningful projects that could help save the environment.<br \/>\nCongratulations to the LYES participants.
