DLSZ takes pride in its very own Grade School Mathletes for acing the International Mathematics Wizard Challenge (IMWiC) held last May 19 \u2013 24, 2017 in Xiamen, China.
\nGian Nicolas Casimiro (DLSZ 2027), Joshua Milan (DLSZ 2027), Aldrich Johan Kimwell (DLSZ 2027), Sofia Annika Ysabel Pagilagan (DLSZ 2027), Gian Louis Valenciano (DLSZ 2027), Emmanuel Jace Savellano (DLSZ 2027), and Bjorn Isaac Escalona (DLSZ 2023) underwent series of trainings under the Mathematics Trainers\u2019 Guild, Philippines through the initiative of the Goals for Excellence in Mathematics (GEM) Program of the Grade School Department. After this series of trainings which stretched from August 2016 to April 2017, these students qualified to join the IMWiC.
\nBy the end of the said competition, Gian Nicolas Casimiro and Sofia Annika Ysabel Pagilagan got merit awards. Gian Louis Valenciano won the bronze medal. Joshua Milan and Emmanuel Jace Savellano were silver medalists. Aldrich Johan Kimwell and Bjorn Isaac Escalona bagged gold medals. In total, our mathletes garnered a total of two merit awards, one bronze medal, two silver medals, and two gold medals.
