{"id":11704,"date":"2016-08-17T09:07:16","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T01:07:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dlszobel.edu.ph\/?p=11704"},"modified":"2016-08-17T09:07:16","modified_gmt":"2016-08-17T01:07:16","slug":"beyond-the-facade-a-harmony-in-dissonance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dlszobel.edu.ph\/index.php\/2016\/08\/17\/beyond-the-facade-a-harmony-in-dissonance\/","title":{"rendered":"Beyond the Fa\u00e7ade: A Harmony in Dissonance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\">De La Salle Santiago Zobel School Senior High School Arts and Design Strand opens <b>Beyond the Fa\u00e7ade: A Harmony in Dissonance <\/b>on August 17, Wednesday, 2:00 PM at the CPA Lobby.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dlszobel.edu.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Poster-Hi-Res-1.png\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\n<p class=\"p2\"><i>\u201cBeing an artist is dragging your innermost feelings out, giving a piece of yourself, no matter in which art form, in which medium.\u201d <\/i>&#8211; Henry Rollins<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">People see exhibits as &#8211; a form of seeing art in its physical form, may it be in sculptures, paintings, or any other sort of medium. What we want to portray exhibits as &#8211; is for people to see and understand an artist\u2019s soul, emotion, and passion; for one to see the interior through a different exterior. The art pieces aren\u2019t just canvases with paint on them, but rather a window to a person\u2019s true self.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">The events of today\u2019s society revolve around the fact that people inherently judge others, whether it is of a conscious choosing or an unconscious one. The standard of judging a book by its cover, more of judging someone by the societal standards set through years of trying to generalize the public, is as evident as ever. When you really stop and think about it, sometimes we don\u2019t even judge someone properly. Sometimes we are just judging the fa\u00e7ade they show, whether they chose to show something else or rather be but under a preconceived notion by another person. The notion of a fa\u00e7ade itself is being behind a mask, not showing your true self.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">The idea of going beyond the fa\u00e7ade means to look for something more than the physicality of what someone or something has to show; the thought of showing the artist\u2019s inner self and being seen through that rather than the societal standard of how people should see them. We understand that sometimes fa\u00e7ade are given to us because of our situations, and we would like to counter those situations by giving a voice for the artists by taking their works and showcasing them to the public to break the stereotype of how people see anyone for anything.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">For more information, please contact Cultural Affairs Office (+632) 771 \u2013 3579 loc. 123.
