The DLSZ Grade School Chess Team finished SECOND<\/strong> while the High School Chess Team placed THIRD<\/strong> in the Philippine Athletic Youth Association (PAYA<\/strong>) Chess Championship which was concluded last October 11, 2015 at La Salle Greenhills.
\nThe PAYA Chess games were held on September 5<\/span> and 6\u00a0 and on October 4 and 11, 2015.\u00a0 The team members and individual board medalists from DLSZ for the PAYA Chess Championship game are as follows:
\nGrade School:
\nBoard 1 – Giancarlo Francisco (DLSZ 2020) – BRONZE<\/strong>
\nBoard 2 – Joaquin Nicholas De Guzman (DLSZ 2022)-SILVER<\/strong>
\nBoard 3 – Jefferson Villarin (DLSZ 2024) – SILVER<\/strong>
\nBoard 4 – Marcus Ocho (DLSZ 2022)
\nBoard 5 – John Paul Meim (DLSZ 2024)
\nBoard 6<\/span> – Martin Ocho (DLSZ 2023)
\nHigh School:
\nBoard 1 – Hans Jeremy Reyes (DLSZ 2019) – SILVER<\/strong>
\nBoard 2 – Glesit Marie Tatoy (DLSZ 2021)
\nBoard 3 – Davenson Co (DLSZ 2017)
\nBoard 4 – Lynux Louie Ansay (DLSZ 2017) – GOLD<\/strong>
\nBoard 5 – Adolf Emil Gaiser (DLSZ 2019) – SILVER<\/strong>
\nMoreover, the DLSZ High School Chess Team was the CHAMPION<\/strong> in the Interscholastic Sports Association (ISSA<\/strong>) Chess Tournament held last September 12, 2015 at Brent International School in Laguna.
\nMembers of the DLSZ HS Champion Team were:

\nBoard 2 – Davenson Co (DLSZ 2017) – GOLD<\/strong>
\nBoard 3 – Lynux Louie Ansay (DLSZ 2017) – GOLD<\/strong>
\nBoard 4 – Hans Jeremy Reyes (DLSZ 2019) – BRONZE<\/strong>
\nThe HS group B and Training Team also took part in the event represented by: Adolf Emil Gaiser (DLSZ 2019), Ezekiel Joachim Figueroa (DLSZ 2019) – SILVER, Cedrik John Malabanan (DLSZ 2016), and Jose Jerard Lim (DLSZ 2016).
\nThe DLSZ MIDDLE SCHOOL Team were represented by: Jefferson Villarin (DLSZ 2024) – SILVER,\u00a0Ella Kirsten Garcia (DLSZ 2019) and Antoinette Sia (DLSZ 2019) and
\nJohn Paul Meim\u00a0(DLSZ 2024).
\nLeading the DLSZ Chess Team is their Coach<\/strong>, Woman International Master Jan<\/strong> Jodilyn Fronda<\/strong>, who is a member of the National Team and the former captain of the DLSU Women’s Chess Team.
