De La Salle Santiago Zobel School – Grade School Science Unit celebrates the annual Nutrition Month or “Buwan ng Nutrisyon” this July.
According to National Nutrition Council (NNC), the 2015 Nutrition Month campaign, “Timbang iwasto sa tamang nutrisyon at ehersisyo,” (Correct weight through right nutrition and exercise) aims to make people aware about how they can prevent obesity by providing them with adequate information through various activities facilitated by the teachers. In this regard, the Grade School students are encouraged by their Science teachers to bring and eat nutritious snacks every day.
Nutrition Month culminating activity will be on July 28, 2015. Simultaneous activities include “You are what you eat: A Guide to Proper Nutrition and Hand Hygiene Talk” to be conducted by Clinical Nutrition Department and the Asian Hospital and Medical Center. The Tetra Pak Cartons Philippines will have Exhibit of Recycled Items, Eco Caravan- Simultaneous Activities to Teach Students the Importance of Drinking Milk and Recycling. Batang On Top by Pediatrica’s Mad Science Show and booth activities will be conducted by Mad Science-Philippines and Ceelin Chewables School Blitz, reSpectively. There will be fitness activities in partnership with the Physical Education Unit and sponsored by Growee, 360 Fitness Club, and Sports U by Ms. Dyan Castillejo.
