Five DLSZ Sporting Teams Haul Medals in WNCAA Season 44

Our very own DLSZ Futsal, GS and HS Basketball, GS and HS Volleyball team hauled medals in the following event and venue during the 41st Season of the Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (WNCAA):


Last November 9, our Futsal Team took the Championship title against Miriam College in the Juniors Division. Sarah Castaneda (DLSZ 2016) was proclaimed as the MVP while Anicka Chabeli Castaneda (DLSZ 2017) and Micaela Maria Atayde (DLSZ 2016) were part of the Mythical 5.
 
The Grade School Basketball Girls Team is the 4-peat champions of this year’s WNCAA. MVP is Isabela Maria Guiterrez (DLSZ 2018); part of the Mythical 5 is Akemi Marteja (DLSZ 2018). They won their championship last November 10 in RTU Gym against St. Stephen High School.
 
In the High School Girls Basketball event, DLSZ placed third. Recipients of the Mythical 5 are Jamie Marie Roxas (DLSZ 2014) and Marian Justine Domingo (DLSZ 2017). The team won against La Salle College Antipolo with a score of 68-57.
 
Both Volleyball High School and Grade School Team won their championships last November 16, at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex
 
The Grade School won in straight sets against San Beda College Alabang. MVP is Jan Potenciano (DLSZ 2018) while Michelle Magaoay (DLSZ 2019) is the Best Setter. Coach Cubes Escol coached the GS Volleyball team.
 
In the High School Division, DLSZ won in 4 sets against St. Scholastica College, in their best of three game series. Scores were 25-20, 23-25, 25-28, 25-19, 25-17. Part of the Mythical 6 are the following: Mildred Thea Dizon (DLSZ 2015) – MVP, Bettina Rose Caceres (DLSZ 2015)- Best Setter, Julianne Marie Samonte (DLSZ 2016) – Best Blocker, Ma. Criselda Rica Valenzuela (DLSZ 2015) – Best Attacker. Kudos to Head Coach Ace Gacutan and Assistant Coaches Cubes Escol and Miah Monreal.
