De La Salle Santiago Zobel School welcomes teachers and personnel from different schools as it hosts this year’s MUNTIPARLAS Consortium last October 21, 2013.
The MUNTIPARLAS (Muntinlupa-Parañaque-Las Piñas) consortium is an annual event that brings together teachers from consortium schools (Manresa School, Marymount School, San Beda College Alabang, and De La Salle Santiago Zobel School) to mingle with one another and unwind from school work.
Celebrating its 18th founding anniversary with this year’s theme, “Coming Together as a Faith-Inspired Communityâ€, teachers from all consortium schools participated in several activities that are focused on wellness.
The program started with an opening prayer led by the Br. Rafael Donato FSC Night High School (BRafeNHS) Animators. Br. Bernie S. Oca, FSC welcomed the participants through his inspiring words. It was followed by a song and dance presentation from the teachers of the Emerald batch.
After the snack break, teachers with age ranging from 20-39 years old went to the Sylvia P. Lina Theater to listen to Dra. Lissa Theresa P. Resurreccion as she discussed about health, diet and nutrition. On the other hand, teachers with age ranging from 40 and above proceeded to the Debbie Decena Auditorium to listen to a talk about cholesterol management and healthy living. The second wellness talk was given by Dr. Divinilio C. Macalinao.
The afternoon event was packed with lots of adrenaline and excitement as teachers from different teams (blue, yellow, green and red) participated in different events that surely brought out their competitive side. To give recognition to the Filipinos’ love for street games, the teachers competed in different events such as Patintero, Luksong Lubid, Tumbang Preso and Sipa. The popular game, Tug of War, was also included.
Motivated and driven to succeed, the Blue team emerged as this year’s over-all champion.
