GS and HS SRCC Attend LEAD Series 2

The Grade School and High School Student Representative Student Council (SRCC) attended the second leg of the Leadership Empowerment and Development (LEAD) Series last September 13-14, 2013. The M.O.V.E. members along with Ms. Llewelyn Embudo, Student Clubs and Activities Head and Mr. Jess Sulit, GS and HS SRCC Adviser facilitated the two-day leadership seminar with the theme “Communion in Mission: The Lasallian Way.”

The GS and HS Council met with the DLSZ President, Br. Bernie Oca FSC, for some inspirational briefing before heading to Malate Catholic School to meet their council counterparts. There, they learned more about Malate Catholic School, and more importantly about the aspects of service and leadership around the school. The Council went to De La Salle University as well for a talk focusing on faith as the basis of Lasallian Ministry and Leadership by Br. Mark Salvan FSC, Br. Paul Mata FSC and Br. Abet King Pia FSC.

The second day of the leadership training was allotted for cultivating talks that enriched the student-leaders’ ideas on being of great service to the school and the student body. The first talk, which centered on time, stress, and conflict management was given by Ms. Maricel I. Ramos, DLSZ Third Year High School Guidance Counselor. Mr. Christopher Castillo, Director of Student Activities from Ateneo de Manila University, gave a motivational talk as well that discussed the basics of team management.

The LEAD Series 2 was a great way for the whole council to learn more about the true essence of service and leadership to make them better leaders for the school and the student body.
