Therese Serrano and Catherine Andaya Join in Asia-Pacific Lasallian Youth Congress

La Salle College in  Bangkok, Thailand, the “Land of Smiles”, welcomed DLSZ students, Therese Adelaide L. Serrano (DLSZ 2014) and Catherine Anne V. Andaya (DLSZ 2014), together with the rest of the delegates from different countries to gather for the Asia-Pacific Lasallian Youth Congress (APLYC 9) last December 1 to December 7 with the theme, “Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve”.
Organized by the Pacific Asia Regional Conference (PARC), APLYC 9 aims to encourage the delegates “to become active participants in Lasallian Youth activities in PARC region and to explore, develop, and express their own values and opinions in Lasallian Spirituality and facilitate their encounter with God.”
The delegates actively shared about what it is to be Lasallian in a spirit of “Faith, Service and Communion” through various presentations, team-building activities, outreaches to the less fortunate, and experienced living and praying as a community.  Despite differences in religion, culture, language, and educational system, they found unity in prayer, service and sense of belonging to a bigger Lasallian family that leads young people to respond to the needs of  “the lost, the least, and the last, ”  in fulfillment of Saint John Baptist De La Salle’s mission.
Ms. Llewelyn Santos-Embudo, Student Clubs and Activities Office Head, also participated as the Lasallian Mentor and adult leader of the DLSZ delegates.
