NAUCP Accredits DLSZ As One of Its Members

De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ), thru the Social Action Office, has passed all necessary requirements as a UNESCO Club and is now an accredited member of the National Association of UNESCO Clubs in the Philippines (NAUCP) Inc.
DLSZ is “now part of a global grassroots movement that develops understanding and support for UNESCO and its programmes”.
Being a member of the UNESCO Clubs in the Philippines entails a number of benefits:

  • THE DLSZ programs, services and activities (e.g. SAO in the fields of literacy & education, training, environmental protection, cultural appreciation, exposure and outreach activities, advocacy, ALE & exchange program for LS Partners; SCAO for its ALE for students; CAO’s face to faith and other socio-cultural programs) will be recognized by the UNESCO Philippines and UNESCO International because it does not only promote the realization of our Lasallian Mission but also contributes to the UNESCO’areas of work, and the realization of our country’s Millennium Development Goals and other national and international development efforts towards personal and social transformation.
  • We can get the support of UNESCO clubs to help us strengthen and provide more offerings for socio-cultural activities, alternative learning experiences (classroom and field trips) to our students.
  • We can avail of the trainings and other capacity building sponsored by the National and International UNESCO either free of charge or with discounts.
  • We can assist UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines in evolving policies and standards in facilitating the attainment of quality education for all and lifelong learning for sustainable development; advocating for science knowledge and policy for sustainable development; addressing emerging social and ethical challenges; fostering cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace; contributing to building inclusive knowledge societies through information and communication.
  • We can help to establish and implement feasible projects and mechanisms for the promotion of networking among institutions for upgrading the professional growth of UNESCO Clubs officers and members in the Philippines;
  • We have a strong ally to undertake a nationwide advocacy campaign complementary to National Commissions’ effort in the promotion of peace, eradication of poverty, sustainable development and intercultural dialogue through education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, communication, and information.
  • We can establish close coordination and linkages with other international organizations particularly the Asia Pacific Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations (AFUCA) and World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations (WFUCA);
  • Our membership in UNESCO and other upcoming engagements will help us also to meet the following CBMs stated in our AVATARS:

1. Achievement in Arts, Sports & Academic

  • Intensify and expand student programs to be able to provide opportunities for them to excel in academics,    performing arts and visual arts, and sports

2. Accessibility to Lasallian Education

  • Create programs that will cultivate a culture that is more sensitive and caring to the poor, the foreign students, and children with special needs

3. Relationship Building among Lasallians
