Our very own girls football team prevailed as champions for 9 successive years at the Alaska Cup under-16
championship last November 16, 2011.
The DLSZ girls football team defeated Baguio FC, Ateneo de Davao, Los Banos and Statefields but lost their last game to Miriam 2-1 during eliminations. The team won against the Makati Football School 5-4 in the semi-finals. They played a tough match against Miriam in the finals but managed to beat them 2-0.
Sara Castañeda (DLSZ 2015) bagged the MVP award.
The girls football team is composed of the following players: Nicole Andaya – Captian (DLSZ 2013), Sara Castañeda, Sandy Palacios (DLSZ 2014), Bea Escudero (DLSZ 2013), Anicka Castaneda (DLSZ 2017), Sabrina Nierras (DLSZ 2014), Maxine Sebastian (DLSZ 2012), Paulina Naguiat (DLSZ 2013), Christina Montelibano (DLSZ 2015), Cheska Fabros (DLSZ 2013), Angelica Zenarosa (DLSZ 2013), and Christina Espiritu (DLSZ 2014).
