De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) salutes Jonathan Gonzales (DLSZ 2017) for winning Honorable Mention under the grade school category in the Gen. Miguel Malvar National Essay Competition.
The contest ran from June 15 to September 15, 2011 and was culminated last October 13, 2011 at the Hero’s birthplace in Sto. Tomas, Batangas City. The over-all theme was “Gen. Malvar – National Hero for Modern Timesâ€.
The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Manila in coordination with the Malvar family and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines organized this competition to celebrate the 100th death anniversary of Gen. Miguel Malvar y Carpio, a revolutionary war hero and the last general to surrender to American occupational forces.
