DLSZ Celebrates Antonio Montemayor Anievas’ 53rd Death Anniversary

De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) celebrated the 53rd death anniversary of Antonio “Tony” Montemayor Anievas with a Memorial Mass and short program last September 16, 2019 at the Our Lady of the Star Chapel in DLSZ Alabang Campus.
Past AMAFI (Antonio Montemayor Anievas Foundation, Inc.) awardees attended this event along with the family of Tony, guests, and our Grades 5-6 students.
Br. Bernard S. Oca FSC, in his Lasallian Message, hopes that young Lasallians will be able to look back and reminisce the wonderful time they had in DLSZ. Br. Bernie expressed his gratitude to the family of Tony and also to the students who attended the Memorial Mass.
After the message, Julia Bernadette C. Cruz (DLSZ 2026) led the opening prayer followed by an intermission number by Academic Year 2015-2016 AMAFI awardee for Art, Allegra Fatime Genuino (DLSZ 2022).
Mr. Gregorio M. Anievas, AMAFI President and older brother of Tony, delivered the closing remarks. The program ended with a prayer that was led by Layel Karisma San Pedro (DLSZ 2026).
The Antonio Montemayor Anievas Foundation, Inc. confers AMAFI awards to qualified Grade 6 students chosen by the board from the nominees entered by the different La Salle Grade Schools nationwide. These are given in recognition of their well-rounded development in the fields of Art, Music, Rhetoric, Athletics, Leadership, and Spirit of Faith from Grades 4-6. A student who shows proficiency in all areas is conferred the Achievement Award.
