Congratulations to Ma. Tricia Jasmin Ocho (DLSZ 2025) and Marcus Julian Ocho (DLSZ 2022) for being part of the Philippine delegation in the 2017 International Mathematics Camp (IM Camp) held in Bogor, Indonesia last April 25 to May 3.
IM Camp is one of the official international events of Mathematics Trainers’ Guild (MTG) for 2017. It is organized by MIPA Education, the same organizing committee of the International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO). The participants were trained by international math experts, Dr. Wen-Hsien Sun (Taiwan), Dr. Simon L. Chua (Philippines), Dr. Pramote Kajornpai (Thailand), and Ridwan Hasan Saputra (Indonesia).
It was a very fulfilling experience for these math enthusiasts who were trained on how to approach and solve complex math Olympiad problems, games and puzzles. It was so enriching as they had several activities that allowed them to interact with and learn from other delegates, including each of their arts and culture. With their impressive performance in the camp, they were recommended by the MTG Committee on Training and Development to be part of the Philippine Team who will represent the country to one of the international mathematics contests lined up this year.
