De La Salle Santiago Zobel swimming varsity athlete Iñaki “ Aki” Emil A. Lorbes (DLSZ 2020) secured a first place finish in the Junior Category of the National Age-Group Triathlon ( NAGT ) held last January 29, 2017 in Subic Bay.
This event is a sanctioned triathlon race by both the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Commission giving Aki valuable points to be able to earn a spot in the Philippine team for the upcoming Youth Olympics 2018.
Aki bested several junior national team athletes with a time of 47 minutes and 38 seconds completing a 600 meter swim, 16 kilometre Bike and a 2.5 kilometre run course.
This event was also participated in by nine (9) of our DLSZ Triathlon Team members and DLSZ Varsity Swimming Team Captain, Liam Anthony Tangan (DLSZ 2017).
