The DLSZ Symphonic Band will have a fundraising concert on October 8, 2016, 6:00 pm at the Sylvia P. Lina Theater. The concert aims to raise funds for the group’s participation in the PACIFIC BASIN MUSIC FESTIVAL in Honolulu, Hawaii on March 25-30, 2017. For tickets, please call Ms. April Amba at 0998-9902661.
The DLSZ Symphonic Band is a group of talented grade school and high school musicians who study diversified musical pieces as part of the school’s Special Music Program. This elite group takes pride in performing for the service of the community and has represented the school in both local and international music festivals. They are the first school band under Basic Education in the Philippines to have been given the Silver award in the 2014 International Band Festival in Singapore and Gold award in 2015 during the 7th Winter Band Festival in Hong Kong. Locally, they have been invited to perform in CCP’s Orchestra and Band Festival for the second year. Under the baton of dedicated teachers, Ms Nena L. Chavez and Mr Linwell H. Lalic, they continue to develop their full potential through hard work and diligent study of band music in varied genres.
